
Matt Shechter, originally a native of Nashville, Tennessee, completed his undergraduate work in 2005 and earned a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Matt graduated from the University of Denver's Sturm College of Law in 2009, where he served as a contributor to The Race to the Bottom, a securities law blog, and on the Executive Board of the Jewish Law Students' Association. Since being admitted to practice in Colorado in 2009, Matt has served as an associate attorney for the firm. In that time, he has represented employees and union members in a variety of matters including Federal and State Discrimination Suits, Wage Claims, Unemployment Hearings, Trade Secrets Claims, Just Cause Arbitrations, Employment Contract disputes, Class Actions, and a variety of other areas.
Even before he graduated from law school, Matt has been working with employees to vindicate their rights. Prior to joining the firm as a law clerk in April 2008, Matt served as an intern to another Colorado employment law firm. Matt has also served for several years as a legal assistant at national law firms in Washington, D.C. and Denver, primarily working on litigation matters. Matt has also been active in politics, working on Capitol Hill and serving as Deputy Finance Director for a Congressional campaign.
Matt is admitted to practice in Colorado. He is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations, and the Colorado Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division. Matt is also a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association and Colorado Plaintiffs' Employment Lawyers Association.
